Trading App Robinhood to Offer Commission-Free Crypto Trading
Stock trading app Robinhood has become the latest platform to sign onto the cryptocurrency craze. The app announced today that its users will be able to view latest prices, news and set alerts for 16 cryptocurrencies. Starting February, Robinhood plans to offer trading services for bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH) to customers in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and New Hampshire. Most importantly, they will be able to purchase cryptocurrencies without incurring commission charges. This is a significant development when you consider that major exchanges, such as Coinbase, charge as much as 4% of a transaction’s total value as fees for crypto purchases.
