Bitcoin soars to $10,500 after U.S. regulator allows futures

Bitcoin recovered on Friday to touch the day’s peak above $10,500, bouncing back from an earlier fall below $9,500, after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced it would allow CME Group and CBOE Global Markets to launch bitcoin contracts.

Bitcoin leaped more than 5 percent on the day to as high as $10,513 on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange.
