Dollar slips as investor risk sentiment recedes

The dollar dropped on Wednesday as broader investor risk sentiment worsened. The dollar index dipped 0.2 percent to 93.213 .DXY.

The greenback slumped 0.4 percent to 112.110 yen, while the euro ticked up 0.15 percent to $1.1842 after sliding 0.35 percent in the previous session.

Sterling traded at $1.3426.

Bitcoin extended its relentless rise, scaling a fresh record peak of $12,205.46 on the BitStamp exchange.
