Dollar stable, tax plans in focus

The dollar was stable near a two-week peak versus a basket of currencies on Thursday but was unable to rise further as many traders focused on differences between views of the U.S. Republicans in the House and the Senate on tax plans.

The greenback slipped to 112.44, sliding further from Monday's peak of 113.09, which was its top in more than two weeks.

The euro traded at $1.1800, having fallen to a two-week trough of $1.1780 overnight.

Sterling last traded at $1.3381 amid worries over a Brexit deal.
