Full English breakfast to become more expensive due to Brexit

Britons may have to pay £3 more for a traditional Full English if the government fails to sign a trade agreement with the European Union, according to a report by KPMG.

A typical basket of the key ingredients like bacon, sausages, tomatoes and baked beans for a family breakfast could jump by almost 13% from £23.59 to £26.61.

All these products could become more expensive if Britain departed from the bloc without a deal and had to buy food stuffs (Spanish orange juice, olive oil from Italy) under World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) customs rules.

Analysis does not include the sharp costs buyers and supermarkets are already facing as a result of the weak pound.
