London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LSEG), operator of the London Stock Exchange (LSE), has appointed a 20-year veteran of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. David Schwimmer as chief executive officer. Mr. Schwimmer will join the board of directors of LSE on 1 August.
Schwimmer, 49, takes up one of the most high-profile jobs in the City of London, he will earn an annual wage of 775,000 pounds ($1.11 million).
Former CEO Xavier Rolet left in November 2017. A stain on his reputation was the failure of the potential merger of LSE and Deutsche Boerse worth 21 billion pounds, blocked by the European Commission in March last year.
