Nissan to begin testing its “robot taxi” in March

The Japanese automaker Nissan and software developer DeNA will begin testing their own robo-taxis in March 2018.

Within two weeks, two electric cars Nissan Leaf, equipped with sensors and cameras that will allow them to move without driver intervention, will be tested on roads in the Japanese city of Yokohama, near the headquarters of Nissan.

Nissan plans to launch the service of the Easy Ride unmanned taxi already in the early 2020s, the basis for the service should be exactly the robo-taxis Nissan Leaf.
