Rising tensions between Qatar and several Arab states, the upcoming testimony of the former FBI chief, elections in the UK and a European Central Bank meeting this week, all this affected the Asian stock markets, oil and the dollar on Tuesday.
The dollar index .DXY dropped to its lowest level in seven months, declining 0.2% to 96.623.
The greenback fell by 0.6% to 109.85 yen, which is close to the six-week low.
The euro was 0.1% higher at $1.127 on Tuesday.
The pound rose 0.1% to $1.292.
