The dollar was virtually flat against a basket of major rivals on Friday, as investors were focused on U.S. inflation data.
The dollar index was steady at 95.740, on track for a weekly loss of 0.25 percent.
The U.S. currency climbed 0.1 percent to 113.415 yen but still lower than a four-month high of 114.495 hit on Tuesday.
The euro was firm at $1.1407. The single European currency hit a 14-month peak of $1.1489 on Wednesday.
