Review: Euro nervous before French presidential election

The euro remained under pressure ahead of the first round of the presidential elections in France on Sunday. The single European currency traded mostly unchanged on Friday, at $ 1.0717.

The euro had reached a three-week peak of $1,0778 on Thursday, but retreated after a policeman was shot dead in Paris in an attack that the Islamic state claimed responsibility for.

The dollar index. DXY was slightly changed at 99.806, on a way to a decrease of 0.75% this week.
