Review: European stocks climb on U.S. tax bill progress

European shares increased strongly on Monday after the U.S. Senate passed a tax package delivering significant fiscal stimulus, which traders have been expecting would give extra legs to the bull run in stock markets.

The pan-European STOXX 600 advanced 0.7 percent while euro zone blue chips leaped 0.8 percent, on track for its best gains in five weeks.

Germany's DAX bounced back from a two-month trough, last up 1.1 percent.
