U.K. stocks have been under pressure this week as the pound has risen to six-month peak.
The FTSE 100 index rose 0.2% in early trade on Thursday, to 7,126.
Many of the companies on the FTSE 100 make their earnings outside the country. If pound becomes stronger, those incomes are not cost as much when converted back into national currency.
The pound rose to $1.2825 on Thursday after MPs backed Theresa May's call for a snap election on Wednsday.
