It is a public holiday in the majority of markets today for Good Friday. There some adjustments to trading hours with liquidity expected to the long holiday weekend.
The pivotal US jobs report (Non-Farm Payrolls) will still be released today, in the unusual circumstances that the equity markets will have to wait till after the weekend to react. It is only the third time that the jobs report has been released on Good Friday. The US Department of Labor releases the monthly employment numbers for non-agricultural businesses at 13:30pm (London).
What does the street expect?
The March employment report has come in significantly under analysts estimates for the last 3 years. The average estimate is that the US economy created 245,000 jobs in March. The highest estimate is from Société Générale expecting 272K and the lowest prediction from the street being Morgan Stanley at 192K.
