Europe’s bickering over refugees has drained its credibility and ultimately puts continental free trade and the euro at risk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said.
Brent crude futures plunged more than 4 percent to fresh 12-year lows on Friday as the market braced for increased Iranian oil exports, with the lifting of international sanctions possible within days.
Commodities have suffered even harsher falls: the oil price is already down an impressive 20 per cent; iron ore is down close to 10 per cent, below $US30 a tonne, and approaching the multi-year lows reached last month.
