Japanese stocks fell on Wednesday despite gains on the US markets following a testimony by the US Federal Reserve's Janet Yellen.
Asian markets mostly rose on Wednesday as Britain heads into a high-stakes referendum on its future in the European Union, after the head of the Federal Reserve warned a vote to leave could hammer world markets.
Stocks and sterling rose while the safe-haven assets gold and bonds slipped on Wednesday, as investors grew more optimistic Britain would vote to remain in the European Union in its referendum on Thursday.
