Alibaba plans to invest $15 billion into global R&D program

Alibaba will invest $15bn into a global research and development program over the next three years in order to focus on artificial intelligence and security technologies.

The program, which it is presently hiring 100 scientists, will help Alibaba reach its goal of serving two billion customers and creating 100 million working positions by 2036.

Eight research labs will be opened in China, the U.S., Russia, Israel and Singapore.
