Asia’s stocks mixed as traders assess recent developments

Asian markets are mostly down on Thursday, because on one side of the scale is pessimism about global trade tensions, and on the other - optimism and hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates. What is weightier is not yet clear.

The main index of the Asia-Pacific region outside Japan, before closing showed an increase of 1.00 percent to 153.95.

  • Japan’s Nikkei index was approximately in the flat, dropping 0.01 percent to 20,774.04;

  • Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.12 percent to 26,864.47;

  • China's Shanghai Composite Index was the loss- leader, having tumbled almost 1 percent, reaching 2,834.47;

  • Indian indicator Sensex decreased by 0.38 percent to 39,929.84;

  • Taiwan and Singapore indices lost 0.50 and 0.46 percent respectively;

  • Australia’s ASX 200 added 0.39 percent to 6.383.0.

South Korea's stock market was closed on the occasion of the holiday, but the latest result, marked by the Kospi index, was in growth by 0.10 percent to 2,069.11.

According to Thursday, it should be noted the shares of companies that showed a decline: Yahoo Japan (-4.23), TDK (-4.05), Isuzu Motors (-3.20), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (-2.51), Mitsubishi Motors (-4.73), Sumitomo Dainippon ( -2.53), Yaskawa Electric (-3.63), Hino Motors (-4.03), IHI (-3.26), JGC (-6.84), Alps Electric (-2.95), Kawasaki (-2.69), Taiyo Yuden (-4.24), Kobelco (-3.04), Dainippon Screen (-2.84), Nippon Electric Glass (-2.04), Furukawa Electric (-2.24), Chiyoda (-4.50), Okuma (-2.78), Fujikura (-2.90), Oki Electric (- 2.15), Pacific Metals (-3.61), Toho Zinc (-2.10), CNOOC (-3.23), China United Network (-2.05), Shanghai International Port (-3.13), Kangmei Pharma (-5.01), Xian Longi (- 2.87), Sh Pharmaceutical (-2.95), Ningbo Port Co (-2.37), GAIL (-9.42), Largan Precision (-3.73), Mediatek (-2.08), Yageo (-3.52), Union Bank Of Taiwan (-2.13 ), Rio Tinto (-2.80), Fortescue Metals -2.77), OZ Minerals (-2.16), Vocus Communications (-2.1 2), SpeedCast International Ltd (-4.93), Myer (-3.03).
