Asian markets open mainly lower

The Asian markets were mixed in early trading because of twofold shade - long-awaited U.S.-China trade talks ended from one hand, and China’s disappointment report, from the other.

Shortly about Thursday market:

  • Nikkei slid down 1.29 percent, Japanese Topix slumped 0.9 percent;

  • Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.1 percent, Shanghai Composite weakened 0.36 percent;

  • South Korea’s Kospi went down 0.07 percent, Kospi 200 reduced 0.1 percent;

  • Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was up 0.29 percent; New Zealand’s S&P/NZX 50 descended 0.3 percent;

  • Taiwan’s Taiex declined 0.2 percent;

  • India’s S&P BSE Sensex tumbled 0.1 percent; NSE Nifty 50 dipped 0.2 percent;

  • Singapore’s Straits Times and Malaysia’s KLCI  soared 0.5 percent each; Philippine Stock Exchange gained 0.8  percent; Jakarta Composite rose 0.4 percent; Thailand’s SET and Vietnam’s VN added 0.2 percent each.
