MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares ticked up 0.2 percent.
Japan’s Nikkei reversed earlier losses and gained 0.7 percent.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.4 percent. South Korean Kospi index ticked up 0.13 percent.
The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones dipped overnight as the imposed U.S. tariffs on metals weighed on industrials, while a surge in tech stocks triggered the Nasdaq to a fresh record peak.
