Asian shares gained on Tuesday after U.S. stocks closed at record highs overnight as U.S. tax plan edged closer to completion.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares increased 0.4 percent.
Japan’s Nikkei sank 0.15 percent.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index rose 0.55 percent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng surged 0.8 percent and the Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.6 percent.
South Korea’s Kospi index lost 0.1 percent.
