Asian shares firmed on Wednesday as traders continued to assess the recent run-up in bond yields.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares gained 0.3 percent. In January, it has climbed so far 6.5 percent.
Japan’s Nikkei slumped 0.8 percent, on course for a monthly rise of 1.5 percent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index increased 0.4 percent. South Korea's Kospi index slipped less than 0.05 percent. Australian shares ticked up 0.2 percent.
