Asian shares advanced on Wednesday following the U.S. market decline overnight.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares jumped 0.7 percent.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.2 percent.
Australian S&P/200 Index was virtually unchanged and South Korea’s KOSPI climbed 0.55 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng edged up 1.2 percent.
U.S. stocks slipped on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling more than 1 percent. Investors remained cautious amid strengthening U.S. dollar and rising U.S. Treasuries.
