Asian stocks edged lower on Thursday following selloff in U.S. equities that came after minutes of the Federal Reserve’s last policy meeting.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares slumped 0.8 percent.
Japan's Nikkei dipped 1.1 percent. Australian shares inched up 0.1 percent.
The Hang Seng Index fell 1 percent, while the Shanghai Composite Index surged 1.9 percent.
On Wall Street, the Dow Jones lost 0.67 percent Wednesday, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.55 percent and the Nasdaq sank 0.22 percent.
