Available jobs in Germany soar to highest ever in second quarter

Germany’s open jobs were at a historic peak in the April-June quarter, today’s report said, which underscores the reserves of a labor market that is catalyzing wage rises and helps to advance consumer spending for the benefit of the leading economy in the EU.

Available job positions jumped by 25,000 in the three months and by 115,000 in the twelve months coming to 1.21 mln in the second quarter, says the data by the IAB, the institute for labor research.

Today’s and yesterday’s figures on industrial production and orders signal that economic expansion in Germany moderated in the end of the quarter hit by trade discords initiated by the U.S.
