Bank of England keeps interest rates unchanged at 0.25%

The Bank of England retained the key rate at 0.25%, the regulator said after meeting on Thursday, 16 March. Eight of the nine Monetary Policy Сommittee members voted to keep the rate unchanged.

The size of its asset purchase program was maintained at 435 billion pounds sterling ($530 billion).

In August, the Bank of England cut the key rate for the first time in seven years to the lowest level in history - 0.25%.
