Bank of England may rise rates in coming months

Bank of England said on Thursday that interest rates are likely to rise over the coming months if the economy continues to expand and inflation to surge.

Members of the Monetary Policy Committee voted 7-2 to hold interest rates at 0.25% as market expected.

Inflation reached 2.9 percent last month and is likely to accelerate to 3 percent in October.
