Big U.S. advertisers quit YouTube

American advertisers were not convinced by Google's assurances that advertisements on YouTube will no longer be shown alongside with terrorist and extremist movies.

Large U.S. advertisers, including AT&T, Enterprise Holdings and Verizon, have temporarily refused to advertise on YouTube due to doubts about the quality of the content.

Earlier, a number of European brands - the international media agency Havas, the BBC broadcasting company, HSBC and Lloyds banks, Tesco retailer, L'Oreal cosmetic company, Audi and Volkswagen carmakers - have suspended advertising campaigns on YouTube.

In February The Times reported that advertisements of the UK Home Office, the BBC, the London Transport Authority (TfL) were placed alongside with videos that incited hatred and homophobia.

I think that it's a very serious Google's mistake with advertisement but I believe that the company will fix it as soon as possible.
