Belinda Boa, BlackRock’s money manager’s head of active investments for Asia-Pacific, told reporters in Hong Kong they consider rising bitcoin prices as sort of bubble-like valuations.
“BlackRock’s view is that this isn’t a financial asset like we would trade in terms of equities and fixed-income instruments.” Ms. Boa said.
Bitcoins and other crypto-currencies prices fluctuates very much, and in the future BlackRock expect even more volatility.
BlackRock is generally skeptical about digital currencies. So, in October, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said in an interview with CNBC that bitcoin is a "money laundering index".
