BoE to raise interest rates in “relatively near term” - Carney

The Bank of England is ready to raise record-low interest rates in November for the first time in a decade if inflation pressure continues to build, according to Mark Carney. The decision will depend on the state of economy.

GDP growth slowed in the first half of 2017, while inflation in August accelerated to 2.9 percent.

Most economists now predict the regulator to raise its rate to 0.50 percent from record low of 0.25 percent.
