British construction industry registers one more month of growth

UK construction sector moved even further away from the declines of the year’s start last month, with the industry seeing the paciest growth in more than half a year, however, the prospects still looked murky for businesses in view of Brexit, Tuesday’s survey found.

The country’s construction PMI by the IHS Markit/CIPS went up to 53.1 from 52.5 of the month before.

Following a slump in March, June becomes the third consecutive month of expansion, the index was also higher than the average analysts’ prediction of 52.5 in a poll by Reuters. Orders increment was the most robust from May last year, while new jobs were made at the highest rate in a year.
