China prepares own measures after new U.S. tariffs

China cannot act otherwise but to introduce response measures against the United States, it said today, even though that might cause harder move by the American administration, with trade tensions between the countries growing.

The statement by the commerce ministry of China followed the announcement of new 10% duties on near $200 bln Chinese goods, while President Trump pledged to move to the third phase, that is one more round of tariffs on $267 bln imports from China, in case Beijing takes any countermeasures.

Fresh U.S. actions excluded some Apple and other manufacturers’ products from the list, but possible next duties would likely spread on this kind of gadgets as well.
