Dollar inches up after Monday’s fall

The dollar edged higher on Monday as U.S. bond yields rose to almost four-year peak.

The dollar index advanced 0.1 percent to 89.430, having jumped from a trough of around 88.43 reached last week, its weakest level in three years.

Versus the yen, the greenback fell 0.2 percent to 108.78 yen.

The euro slipped 0.1 percent to $1.2373, retreating from a three-year top of $1.2538 scaled last week.

Sterling traded at $1.4018.
