The dollar was firm versus a basket of major currencies on Thursday, underpinned by higher long-term U.S. Treasury yields, though persisting worries over U.S.-China trade dispute capped the gain.
The dollar index was stable at 89.633 .DXY after inching up 0.1 percent in the previous session.
The greenback was up 0.15 percent at 107.410 yen, extending the previous session's moderate rise.
The euro rose slightly 0.07 percent to $1.2383 adding to small gains on Wednesday.
The Canadian dollar traded at C$1.2637, sliding from a seven-week peak of C$1.2528.
Bitcoin BTCUSD rose 4 percent to $8,204.20 on Wednesday.
