The greenback inched higher versus the yen on Thursday after the Bank of Japan held its monetary policy and massive support of economy steady.
The dollar ticked up 0.2 percent to 113.56 yen, having fluctuated around 113.40 yen before Kuroda’s news conference.
The euro was firm at $1.1872, having climbed around 1 percent so far this week.
Sterling edged up less than 0.05 percent to $1.3386.
Bitcoin was traded recently around $16,400 after touching lows of $15,400 overnight in the U.S.
