ECB fines Irish bank PTSB for breaching regulatory requirements

The European Central Bank's banking supervision arm has fined Ireland’s Permanent TSB bank a total of €2.5m for failing to execute with regulator's liquidity requirements.

The breaches, which did not change the liquidity position of the lender, occurred over a seven-month period between October 2015 and April 2016.

The bank stressed that the violations had happened due to a “misinterpretation of a revised regulation”.
