ECB is predicted to raise rates next time in July 2019

Investors estimate at 90% probability the ECB’s next interest rate hike in July next year, after today’s hardline comments of the bank’s senior official.

The ECB’s assuredness that inflation is returning to the targeted level is growing and the issue of possible lessening of bond purchases will be discussed in the coming week, said the ECB’s Peter Praet.

Money markets of the euro zone give 70% for the next rate raise in June 2019, jumping from 50% back in the week. In the past week investors had forecasted rate lift only in October next year bothered by political crisis in Italy.
