On Thursday, the European Central Bank (ECB) once again left eurozone interest rates unchanged: the benchmark interest rate has remained at 0.00%, while the interest rate on the overnight deposit facility is still -0.40%.
Since January 2018, the central bank will halve asset purchases to 30 billion euros ($35 billion) a month by the end of September 2018. The validity period of the QE program can be extended.
The last time the European Central Bank cut rates March 10, 2016. Then the ECB lowered the basic interest rate on loans from 0.05% to 0%.
