ECB slows pace of its stimulus programme

The ECB’s governing council has decided on Thursday to extend the quantitative easing programme for at least another nine months - or longer, depend on state of the economy.

At the same time, the regulator cut QE programme to €30bn per month from January 2018, compared with €60bn per month at present.

The ECB has also held the main eurozone interest rate unchanged at 0.0%.
