Economy data supports euro

The euro jumped to a two-week peak on Thursday on solid economic data that raise the prospect for the European Central Bank move to wind down its large stimulus plan.

The euro hit its top in more than two weeks at $1.1878, and was traded 0.1 percent higher on the day at $1.1867. It has risen for five straight sessions.

Morgan Stanley strategists predict the single currency is poised to move higher on rising signs of strong economic activity.
