Leaders the European Union (EU) members have not reached an agreement on reforming the quota system for the resettlement of migrants, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte said. Now this issue will be referred to the EU Council.
During the talks, three main issues were discussed: combating the root causes of migration, the need for funding decisions and the need to involve all 27 member countries in the quota system. On the first two questions, the views of the parties do not coincide.
A few years ago in Europe, a migration crisis began, as a result of which the EU countries had to accept about 2.5 million refugees
