The European Union will hold a summit on April 29, dedicated to the beginning of the process for Britain's exit from the bloc, president of the EU council Donald Tusk said.
In the summit leaders of 27 European countries will participate. They must agree on the main line in negotiations with Britain on Brexit conditions after London sends to Brussels a formal notification of its intention to withdraw from the EU. This notification London will send on March 29, as it was announced on March 20.
Tusk recalled that he personally was against Brexit, but most British voters decided otherwise. According to him, the EU leadership should do everything possible to make the process of "divorce" minimally painful for the European Union. The goal of the negotiators is to give the most clear and unambiguous prospects to all citizens, companies and participating countries that will suffer due to Brexit.
