Euro area retail sales in February rose by 0.7%

Euro area retail sales increased by 0.7% in February 2017 from January, according to the data of the European Union's statistics office Eurostat.

Year-on-year, the indicator increased by 1.8%.

In general, retail sales in the 28 countries of the EU grew by 0.7% from January and by 2.2% from February 2016. Among the EU countries the largest growth in retail trade for the month was recorded in Portugal (3.1%), Croatia (2.8%) and Slovenia (2.3%).
