Euro sinks as euro zone inflation remains low

The euro dipped to an eight-day trough on Thursday after eurozone inflation grew by less than expected last month, supporting the European Central Bank’s monetary policy.

The common currency slumped to an eight-day trough of $1.1809, losing 0.3 percent on the day. It eased 0.63 percent versus pound to 87.81 pence.

Euro zone inflation increased to 1.5 percent in November, less than predicted.
