Euro zone’s index of investor optimism at the lowest point since 2016

The euro zone’s investor sentiment has plummeted to its record low from October 2016 on concerns of trade dispute with the U.S. and political uncertainty in Italy, as shows the study by Sentix.

The research group’s index of investor mood has fallen from May’s 19.2 to 9.3 in June, which is significantly less than predicted, and adds to recent decreases.

Those surveyed by Sentix said that the outlook was less upbeat and that the ongoing state of affairs in the economy has worsened. U.S. punitive tariffs trouble investors, as well as the new government in Italy, said Manfred Hübner of Sentix.
