European shares slip following weak US session

European shares inched lower in morning deals on Thursday as investors assessed the latest corporate reports and focused on a Bank of England meeting.

The Stoxx Europe 600 index slipped 0.1% to 379.56.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 index sank 0.5% to 12,520.26 and France’s CAC 40 index slid 0.4% to 5,236.49. London's benchmark lost 0.4% to 7,251.72 and Spain’s IBEX 35 index IBEX shed 0.6% to 9,922.70.

Investors investors remained cautious as volatile trading continues to be seen across markets worldwide this week, with Asia-Pacific stocks closed higher on Thursday, while Wall Street slipped the day before.

Investors also will be watching the Bank of England policy meeting closely for any clues as to when the regulator may next increase interest rates.
