France reduces its stake in Renault to level of 15 percent

The French government said it sold a 4.7 percent stake in Renault to the carmaker for 1.21 billion euros ($1.4 billion).

After the deal is closed, the state will own a 15 percent stake in Renault, as it was before the spring of 2015.

In April 2015, the government bought another 4.7 percent in order to strengthen its position in the company compared to another shareholder – Nissan.
