France’s service sector intensifies in October

France posted a rise in its service sector performance for October as businesses employed more people, revealed a survey data published today.

PMI for the industry by IHS Markit, the company that released the report, climbed to 55.3 last month from September’s 54.8, but still below the tentative figure of 55.6.

In the country’s leading industry firms hired new workforce more than in any other month from February, and the number of new companies was the highest in half a year.

At the same time the prospects seemed less upbeat in view of continued hikes in purchasing prices, which overtook selling prices considerably, lessening firms’ profits.
