General Motors to recall 2.5 million vehicles in China

General Motors and its joint venture Shanghai GM will recall more than 2.5 million cars in China due to a defect in the airbags.

The first wave of recall will begin on October 29, 13,492 imported Saab and Opel will be withdraw. The second recall, starting from Dec. 29 will involve more than 2.51 million Chevrolet and Buick cars.

Cars that will be recalled are equipped with airbags of the Japanese manufacturer Takata Corp.
