German growth under pressure from outside factors, as business mood slides

Business optimism in Germany dropped this month, today’s data reveals, which means that firms’ CEOs are seeing prospects for expansion deteriorating.

The index of business environment from the Ifo institute registered declines during last four months, coming down to 101.0, the worst reading in over two years and below the prediction of 101.8 in a poll by Reuters.

Germany’s economic growth suffered from global trade disagreements, potential Britain’s falling out of the EU with no deal, as well as slower expansion in emerging economies.
