Growth in euro zone loses momentum but only slightly

Business expansion in the euro zone retreated to the minimum of two years last month, after exports and business sentiment were hit by tariff exchanges and murky political situation, a survey of today found.

Composite Final PMI for the region from IHS Markit, regarded as a reliable indicator of economic conditions, eased from 54.1 in September to 53.1 in October, the level not seen for two years.

Despite the results of this survey and government data pointing to a broad deceleration, the outlook doesn’t seem to be as bad as previously expected.
